Loretta received her BS at the National Louis University in McLean, VA and is currently working on a Master Business Administration degrees. 
Loretta joined the union in 1998. She plans to become Agency Vice President for Local 12. 
Loretta is a single parent with one child who is 10 years old and very dear to her heart, his name is Brandon. We both love football and are fans of Dallas Cowboys, who Brandon hopes to play football for after college.

Text Box: Maureen began working at the U.S. Department of Labor in 1987 at the Bureau of Labor Statistics, BLS, and transferred to the Bureau of International Labor Affairs, ILAB, in 1992.  
Maureen has a BA in History and a BS in Art Education from the University of New Hampshire, and an MA in International Economics from the Paul Nitze School of Advanced International Studies of the Johns Hopkins University.  
She has been a member of Local 12 since 1987.  Previous union membership includes the American Federation of Teachers, AFT, and the National Education Association, NEA.  She has worked with the Local 12 as a union representative on the Board of the Department of Labor Child Development Center and as an elected Board Member, focusing on fundraising and the child care subsidies for the Center.   
Maureen’s two daughters, Alicia and Julia, currently in high school, attended the DOL Child Development Center.  Husband Andy Pettis - retired after 38 years of federal service - was an active member of Local 12, serving as an elected member to a number of Local 12 executive board positions.

Text Box: Mark is the senior staff person responsible for helping to administer the nationwide OSHA Injury & Illness Recordkeeping system.  OSHA has the responsibility within the U.S. Department of Labor for maintaining the OSHA recordkeeping system and analyzing work injury and illness statistics.
Mark has been employed with OSHA since 1994 and he has been with OSHA’s Recordkeeping group since 2003.  While at OSHA, he has worked in the Directorate of Standards and Guidance Health section as an Industrial Hygienist from 1994 – 2003 . Mark was employed at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in the Environmental, Health and Safety office from 1987 – 1994.  While working at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Mark received his Masters degree in 1993 from the Department of Environmental Sciences and Engineering, School of Public Health.

Text Box: Alfred is an occupational safety and health specialist within OSHA's Directorate of Cooperative State Program. 
Alfred has been a member of AFGE Local 12 since accepting his position at the Department of Labor in June of 2002. In April of 2008 Alfred was elected as a union steward within OSHA. 
Alfred began his safety and health career in the U S Air Force where he served and retired as an Non-Commissioned Officer. While serving in the Air Force he held collateral duties as a Unit Equal Opportunity Officer on several occasions. Prior to joining the Department of Labor he worked as a laborer and as a manager for the U S Postal Service Northern Virginia District. He also worked as a safety and health specialist for the Department of the Army Fort Belvoir, Va. In his present duties with the Directorate of Cooperative and State Programs he serves as a liaison with the Department of Defense Safety, Health and Return-to-Employment (SHARE) Initiative. He has completed Mediation Training as well as Administrative Litigation Certification training.
